CBA CEO to represent SDG 13 in the UN Global Compact's Leadership with Impact Program in Brazil

To be represented by Luciano Alves, the recognition reflects the company's ongoing commitment to its climate agenda. CCBA - Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio has announced the appointment of its CEO, Luciano Alves, as the representative for SDG 13 - Climate Action in the UN Global Compact's Leadership with Impact Program in Brazil.   The initiative aims to attract, engage, raise awareness of and empower business leaders to expedite delivery of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), established by the United Nations (UN), through 2030. Luciano Alves is joining the group of other leaders and CEOs who are changing the way of thinking and doing business in their companies, aligning their managerial and operational practices with Global Goals. In 2022, the former CBA CEO, Ricardo Carvalho, also joined the Program as the representative for SDG 17 - Partnerships for the Goals. Ricardo Carvalho remains the representative for this SDG even after leaving the position of CEO, as he now serves on the CBA executive committee.   "To be appointed as a spokesperson for SDG 13 is an unbelievable honor! Besides being an important recognition, it demonstrates that we are on the right path at CBA, aligned with the sustainable development goals, especially in our efforts against climate change.  When it comes to sustainability there is no finish line. We want to inspire and engage our value chain to continue evolving," declares Luciano Alves.   SDG 13 aims to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts and is one of the key drivers of CBA's ESG 2030 Strategy.
