The Company's booth featured fun interactive activities at the first edition of the event   Bolstering the culture of environmental awareness within and beyond its operations, Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio (CBA) is participating in the Ciranda Literária Project - Muriaé em Movimento. The event took place for the first time last Saturday (18) at Praça Prefeito Paulo Carvalho, also known as Praça do Trabalhador, in Barra. This educational initiative features attractions and artistic performances organized by the Municipality of Muriaé and includes the participation of CBA's Environmental Education Program (PEA).   Cristina Navarro de Aquino, Municipal Education Secretary in Muriaé, praises the mobilization of the entire municipal network to value writers, artists and Muriaé culture among children. "The first edition of Ciranda Literária was a resounding success and exceeded our expectations.  We are extremely grateful for CBA's participation, as they embraced this initiative from the very offset," she enthuses.   Through the PEA team, the Company had a booth at the event, which used fun games and activities to showcase the aluminum production process and how the company operates its dam, always prioritizing safety. The activities included word puzzles, memory games and other activities that demonstrated how aluminum is present in people's daily lives.   Christian Fonseca de Andrade, the manager of CBA’s mines in Zona da Mata Mineira, emphasizes that the environment provided by Ciranda Literária in the squares of Muriaé, alongside the school community, will be an important channel for raising awareness and knowledge about CBA's Sustainable Mining practices.   "Developing actions on these topics is the goal of our PEA, which connects with Ciranda Literária through its fun and educational approach. We are delighted to bring environmental awareness to communities and to inform them about how we develop our Sustainable Mining. This gives us the opportunity to answer questions and provide clarifications to the local communities," he highlights.   Ciranda Literária - Muriaé em Movimento is a unique initiative in the city, involving various local entities and institutions, featuring scavenger hunts, artistic performances, book collections and other attractions. After its first edition in March, the event will take place every third Saturday of each month in different squares across the municipality.   Environmental Education Program - PEA  Now in its 21st year, CBA's PEA is an initiative that aims to disseminate the environmental viability of mining activities through knowledge about the environment and to enable its conservation, sustainable use and the pursuit of values that lead to harmonious coexistence with the environment and other species that inhabit the planet.   Since its inception, the initiative has involved the participation of more than 145,000 people in Minas Gerais, where the Company has been operating its bauxite mines for over 80 years, and has been present in Zona da Mata Mineira for 40 years.   About CBA Founded in 1955, Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio - CBA is a vertically integrated producer, from cradle to gate, including recycling.
