CBA and Senai capacitate women for the metal and mining sectors

São Paulo, March 2021 – Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio (CBA) is hiring 45% of people graduating from its first Women’s Training course to work as Metalwork Process Operators. Administered by the National Industrial Learning Service of São Paulo state (Senai-SP) – Alumínio plant, the Company sponsored the course as part of its initiatives supporting diversity and inclusion of women in the workplace. The initiative is aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the UN’s Global Compact, which CBA is party to. The new employees will work in the Smelters, where the aluminum oxide is transformed into liquid aluminum at the Alumínio Plant. 

About the course

Focusing on preparing women for the market in general, the course took place between October and December 2020 and provided 160 hours of technical teaching: 24 hours of training in social and emotional skills, simulating job interviews and workplace conduct; and a further 16 hours in occupational safety issues.
